Teaching and Research Fellow (International Environmental Law)
Dr. Alois Aldridge Mugadza is a Teaching and Research Fellow at the Caribbean Environmental Law Unit, Faculty of Law, University of the West Indies. He coordinates and lectures in Advanced International Environmental Law at the postgraduate level and Caribbean Environmental Law at the undergraduate level. Previously, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Groningen, where he worked on a project focused on resource security and democracy in South African rural communities. He has also held research positions at the University of Johannesburg and collaborated with institutions such as Utrecht University, North West University, and the University of Fort Hare.
With extensive experience in environmental law, Dr. Mugadza has worked with global organizations, including Natural Justice, the Centre for Water Security and Cooperation, IUCN's Environmental Law Centre, and the United Nations University. He is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law and a UNFCCC-nominated expert, contributing to policy and governance initiatives in international environmental law.
